16. Raven mug

16. Raven mug
The body is made from deep black clay, grounding the mug in shadowy elegance and giving it a strong, tactile presence. Flowing over the surface is a stone-light blue glaze. The glaze drapes across the black clay with quiet movement, creating subtle tonal shifts that evoke weathered stone, fog, or moonlight on slate.
A carved gothic window stands out on one side — its pointed arch and refined lines offering a sense of timeless architecture, like the worn remnants of a chapel hidden in the woods. The pale blue glaze pools in the carved lines, adding depth and contrast that brings the window to life.
At the bottom of the handle, a sculpted black bird wing appliqué curves outward and upward.
Crowning the top of the handle is a touch of brass-like filigree, ornate and metallic in appearance. It adds a regal, antique flourish — a flash of gold against the dark palette, like a forgotten relic or ceremonial detail.
The focal point of the mug is a beautifully painted black raven, perched solemnly at the base. Its feathers are rendered with rich detail and subtle sheen, and its posture is alert yet still — the classic image of wisdom, mystery, and watchful presence. Positioned low, the raven feels grounded and intentional, like a guardian spirit resting at the foot of a sacred structure.
