Yoohoo! I’m Brooke Thivierge, the artist of BAT’s ceramics.
I received my bachelor’s in fine arts from New Hampshire Institute of Art in 2017 with a focus in painting. My senior year of college I discovered a new passion for ceramics. Working with clay felt so different compared to my usual canvas paintings. I was completely inspired by the possibilities of clay. Once I discovered underglaze, my work took an exciting turn. I decided to combine my knowledge of painting with my functional pottery and here I am today!
My work consists of throwing on the wheel, sculpting, carving, underglaze painting and applying colorful glazes all by hand.
My inspiration comes from flora and fauna from around the world. Growing up I was taught to respect the outdoors and never take more than you need. My work is meant to help others acknowledge their connection to nature, to always remember nature is a part of you, and never take it for granted.
