This handmade one-of-a-kind ceramic mug evokes the regal and whimsy of an owl. The mug is adorned with red poppy flowers and leaves, surrounded by colorful flowing glazes. These appliques add textures and movement, creating an environmental perspective. At the top of the handle is a sweet red poppy flower applique. At the base of the handle are small wing appliques which are glazed similar colors to the owl. The main focus of the mug is a painted owl. The bird was created with meticulous details. The smallest of feathers and colors are depicted with care. The owl is not clear glazed leaving it matte raw clay contrasted against the glossy glazes. The painting has been coated with liquid quartz, a protective barrier against water, protentional stains, and UV light.

ON-SALE due to glaze imperfection on interior. User discretion is advised. These glaze bubbles should not interfere with the function. As long as the mug is properly cleaned after use. I would have refired it with extra glaze to fill in those bubbles, but the painting was overworked resulting in bubbles as well. I am afraid if I fire it again those bubbles could pop making it look unpleasing. See photos.
