This African Penguin mug was refired to fill a small hole. Success! It no longer leaks! It has a glaze beauty mark on the interior where I applied extra glaze. The exterior glaze flowed more, covering some of the white crackle glaze. Around the handle are small penguin appliques sitting on snow mounds. The base is a crackle glaze and the top is a dark flowing blue with purple crystal growths. The penguin painted was created with meticulous details rendered with small, detailed brushstrokes. The painting is not clear glazed leaving it the raw matte clay texture which contrasted against the surrounding gloss glaze.
