21. Autumn Mantis mug
Handmade wheel thrown one-of-a-kind ceramic mug. Inspired by the colors of Autumn with a touch of spooky. The exterior glaze is covered in glaze crystals flowing all around. On both sides are carved gothic window arches glazed in dark contrasting black. Surrounding the windows, as if they are growing up around the windows are carved vines. The handle is adorned with filagree appliques giving an old-world charm. The front focal point of the mug is a painted praying mantis rendered in meticulous details. The mantis is not clear glazed leaving it the natural texture of ceramic. The interior is glazed with bright orange echoing the same colors of the mantis.
*ON-SALE due to glaze running off onto kiln shelf. I sanded it down as much as I could. This is only a cosmetic flaw and will not interfere with the functionality.
