This mug is adorned with ocean themed appliques around the handle. Fish swim through the handle. The handle itself is a deeply carved surface to mimic the textures of coral. There is a crab applique as a thumb rest at the top of the handle. These designs are surrounded by a lush ocean blue gloss glaze. The focal point of the mug is a cowfish painting rendered in meticulous details. The cowfish is not clear glazed giving it a raw clay texture. This choice of not clear glazing the painting makes it contrasted against the surrounding gloss glaze. The painting is coated in liquid quartz sealer protecting it from UV light and potential stains.
