Handmade wheel thrown one-of-a-kind ceramic mug. Inspired by the colors of Autumn with a touch of spooky. The mug itself is a white base with orange and black clay marble. This was one of my first attempts of marbled clay, so the colors did not come through as much as the others. You can see the marble mostly throughout the bottom the mug. The exterior glaze is a translucent white making the carved gothic window arches on both sides contrast with their dark glazes. The windows contrast dark colors of brown and black. Surrounding the windows, as if they are growing up around the windows are carved vines. The handle is adorned with filagree appliques with a white poppy flower thumb rest. The front focal point of the mug is a painted beetle rendered in meticulous details. The interior is glazed with a dark blue that echoes hues within the white surface glaze.
